Construction Manager- Data Centers

About the role
We are seeking an On-Site Construction Manager to manage and coordinate the installation phases of projects, ensuring their technical success. You will rely on expert communication skills as you work directly with general and subcontractors, as well as our internal project team. Reporting to the lead Project Manager, you will work transparently to address installation issues promptly and take proactive measures to meet or exceed deadlines and scope expectations. You must be local to the Pittsburgh area and willing to report on-site.
Responsibilities
- Be in charge of the E Tech Low Voltage Subcontractor’s scope and schedule for Data Center project installations.
- Deliver the installation portion of projects on time and under budget, as defined by the E Tech Lead Project Manager.
- Facilitate communications between the client and subcontractors by working closely with the Lead Project Manager.
- Work with the Project Manager to develop the project labor resource plan and quality control plan to meet the client’s schedule and budget requirements.
- Maintain firm control of scope and compliance with FRS and contract requirements. Ensure subcontractor scope is well-defined and communicated, proactively manage Change Orders, and identify additional scope opportunities that serve the client’s objectives.
- Develop and maintain project cost budgets and reports; manage estimated cost at completion, earned value, and contingency. Forecast monthly project costs to avoid overruns.
- Work with the project team to achieve tasks and milestones on schedule and under budget. Collaborate with the Operations group to assign the right resources at the optimal time.
- Communicate project progress to the team and client, acting as an advocate for the project team.
- Identify project risks in advance and mobilize resources to mitigate them.

Requirements
- BS in Engineering or equivalent educational background.
- 10 years of experience in project and/or construction management.
- Proficiency in project and construction management principles, methods, and tools.
- Experience in industrial controls for data centers, building management, consumer products, automotive, food & beverage, process industries, energy management, or similar fields.
- Experience in building construction and managing subcontractors.
- A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and expertise in Low Voltage installation of conduit, cable, etc.
- Experience with project management software such as MS Project.
- Experience managing control systems, HMI, plant data historians, and other industrial projects.
- Experience with MES/MOM solution implementation.
