Construction Manager

About the role

We are seeking an On-Site Construction Manager to manage and coordinate the installation phases of projects, ensuring their technical success. You will rely on expert communication skills while working directly with general and subcontractors, as well as our internal project team. You will report to the lead Project Manager (PM) of a given project, working transparently to address installation issues promptly and proactively to meet or exceed deadlines and scope expectations. You must be local to the Port Washington area and willing to report on-site.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the E Tech Low Voltage Subcontractor’s scope and schedule for the installation of a given Data Center project.
• Deliver the installation portion of a project on time and under budget, as defined by the E Tech Lead Project Manager.
• Facilitate communications between the client and subcontractors by working closely with the Lead Project Manager.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop the project labor resource plan and quality control plan to meet the client’s schedule and budget requirements.
• Maintain firm control of scope and compliance with FRS and contract requirements. Ensure subcontractor scope is well-defined and communicated, proactively obtain required Change Orders, and identify additional scope opportunities that serve the client’s objectives.
• Develop and maintain project cost budgets and reports; manage estimated cost at completion, earned value, and contingency. Forecast monthly project costs to avoid overruns.
• Work with the project team to achieve tasks and milestones on schedule and under budget. Coordinate with the Operations group to assign the right resources at the optimal time.
• Communicate project progress to the team and the client, advocating effectively for the project team.
• Identify project risks in advance and mobilize resources to mitigate them.

Requirements

• BS Engineering degree or equivalent educational background.
• 10 years of experience in a project and/or construction management environment.
• Proficiency in project and construction management principles, methods, and tools.
• Experience in industrial controls for data centers, building management, consumer products, automotive, food & beverage, process industries, energy management, or similar fields.
• Experience in building construction and managing subcontractors.
• A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and expertise in Low Voltage installation of conduit, cable, etc.
• Experience with project management software such as MS Project.
• Experience managing control system, HMI, plant data historian, and other industrial projects.
• Experience with MES/MOM solution implementation.
