Construction Manager

Essential Functions

• Achieves financial objectives by assisting with selecting and bidding to qualified contractors; anticipating requirements, submitting information for budget preparation; scheduling expenditures; monitoring costs; analyzing variances; writing purchase orders, reviewing and approving invoices.
• Affirms company quality control expectations by completing pre-construction, interim, and final inspections including a detailed punch-list(s) at completion of projects.
• Ensures compliance with legal and company requirements by enforcing building codes, following company systems, policies and procedures, maintaining safe and healthy work practices, and monitoring pre-construction and closing inspections, including completion of a detailed punch-list at completion of projects.
• Enhances efficiency of construction process by evaluating construction documents, policies and procedures; and, by recommending and implementing best practice and cost optimization revisions.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as deemed necessary by Facilities Director.
• Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
• Maintains program costs by preparing operational and risk reports for analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
• Other combinations of job related experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted.
• Five years of experience or more preferred; including minimum of two years of management responsibility.

Physical Requirements

• Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word preferred.
• Complete Physical Activity Inventory of the Position Includes Sit for long periods of time.
• Operate computer keyboard and mouse for data entry.
• View computer monitor.
• Hear and speak via telephone.
• Reach forward and/or overhead.
• Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at a normal range.
• The lighting will include natural light from the outside as well as fluorescent lighting throughout the work areas.
• Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.
