About the Role
As a Construction Management Services Intern at SSR, you will gain hands-on experience supporting civil, environmental, and infrastructure engineering projects. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and project teams to assist in design development, data analysis, permitting, field investigations, and project documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications.
- Support site layout, grading, drainage, and utility design using Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
- Perform field visits for data collection, site assessments, and construction observation.
- Help review design standards and regulatory codes for compliance.
- Participate in internal team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
- Organize and analyze project data for use in technical documentation and presentations.
- Apply industry standards and SSR policies under the guidance of project leads; document work with accuracy and completeness.
- Attend team meetings; capture notes, actions, and due dates; follow up to keep tasks moving.
- Seek opportunities to expand knowledge and skills; share recent developments or coursework insights with the team.
- Participate in internal/external trainings, lunch-and-learns, and site walks to build practical experience.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and peers; ask questions proactively and escalate blockers early.
Minimum Requirements
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of at least sophomore year by the internship start date.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar design software preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with an eagerness to learn and contribute in a team environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of theories and methodologies relevant to the discipline.
- Clear written communication and presentation skills; strong speech clarity.
- Judgment and decision-making, with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Positive interpersonal collaboration and professionalism in team settings.
