Construction Management Intern

Key Responsibilities

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be open to learning, disciplined, systems-driven, detail-oriented, and possess a positive and proactive attitude.
• Open to learning about commercial construction and comfortable meeting people.
• Assist with estimating and project management.
• Gain experience with bid strategies and negotiations.
• Assist with project scheduling.
• Support submittals and product knowledge (use and installation).
• Participate in project forecasting.
• Prepare construction documentation.
• Ensure job-site safety and conduct visits.

Requirements

• Currently attending a college or university in a related degree program such as Construction Management, Business Administration, etc.
• Working towards completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management.
• Entry-level estimating experience.
• Blueprint reading and analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.
• Ability to prepare project submittals and manuals.
• Review project specifications and requirements.
• Knowledge of plan downloading and printing.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education

• Working towards completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management.

Technology

• Working knowledge of computers, including email, word processing, Excel, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.

Work Environment

• The setting for this position is an office/field hybrid.
• If travel is required, it will be compensated appropriately (mileage reimbursement, etc).

Physical Demands

• See, hear, walk, stand, lift up to 50 lbs., bend, speak, sit, learn, read, concentrate, think, communicate, and work.
