Duties, Responsibilities & Other
- The intern will work under the supervision of a technical manager within our Transportation Construction Inspection group.
- Interns will work a 40-hour week, with at least 10 weeks of work required.
- Interns will be assigned a dedicated supervisor and mentor, are required to attend planned activities, and must submit mid-summer and end-of-summer reports/presentations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
- Support experienced Field Technicians in overseeing active construction projects.
- Afford opportunities to gain hands-on experience with real-world projects and daily work tasks.
- Prepare detailed and timely reports to document construction progress, inspection findings, and testing results.
- Prepare necessary records, measure field quantities, and conduct required field tests to ensure contractor compliance with contract specifications.
- Accurately record and report daily forms in accordance with project requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisor to facilitate smooth project operations.
- Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submission.
- Submit accurate time sheets, mileage, and expense reports on time each week.
- Review jobsite safety daily, taking immediate action to document and resolve any issues.
- Understand and follow OSHA Safety Standards and KCI corporate policies at all times.
Qualifications
- This is an entry level position where no previous experience is required.
- Education And/or Work Experience Preferred
- High School Diploma/GED Certificates, Licenses, And/or Registrations Required
- Valid Driver’s License
