Duties, Responsibilities & Other

  • The intern will work under the supervision of a technical manager within our Transportation Construction Inspection group.
  • Interns will work a 40-hour week, with at least 10 weeks of work required.
  • Interns will be assigned a dedicated supervisor and mentor, are required to attend planned activities, and must submit mid-summer and end-of-summer reports/presentations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

  • Support experienced Field Technicians in overseeing active construction projects.
  • Afford opportunities to gain hands-on experience with real-world projects and daily work tasks.
  • Prepare detailed and timely reports to document construction progress, inspection findings, and testing results.
  • Prepare necessary records, measure field quantities, and conduct required field tests to ensure contractor compliance with contract specifications.
  • Accurately record and report daily forms in accordance with project requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with supervisor to facilitate smooth project operations.
  • Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submission.
  • Submit accurate time sheets, mileage, and expense reports on time each week.
  • Review jobsite safety daily, taking immediate action to document and resolve any issues.
  • Understand and follow OSHA Safety Standards and KCI corporate policies at all times.

Qualifications

  • This is an entry level position where no previous experience is required.
  • Education And/or Work Experience Preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED Certificates, Licenses, And/or Registrations Required
  • Valid Driver’s License
