Construction Laborers

Responsibilities

• Aid crew members and supervisors with tasks such as demolition, material handling, and construction activities.
• Assist with grading, preparing grounds, parking areas, and driveways using motor-graders, dozers, backhoes, and front-end loaders.
• Monitor the work site and equipment for unsafe or hazardous conditions and take protective measures.
• Signal equipment operators to ensure proper alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Clean the job site at the end of the day, disposing of trash and storing materials or equipment appropriately.
• Assist with cutting, laying, and fitting pipe for water, storm lines, and wastewater systems.
• Keep accurate records of work time spent on each piece of equipment or vehicle.
• Maintain equipment, tools, and work facilities in a clean and good condition.
• Operate all vehicles or equipment related to the job.
• Drive to pick up parts from area suppliers.
• Inspect assigned machinery and vehicles daily, including checking fluid levels and spotting for damages.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
