Construction Inspector - Transportation

BKF is hiring a Construction Inspector to execute onsite construction inspections to ensure the project is being constructed in compliance with the contract requirements and applicable permits. Responsibilities: General Inspect a variety of construction including but not limited to repair of pipelines, water mains, sewers, lift stations, and treatment plantsAdvises Resident Engineer or Agency Project Manager and informs contractors of any variances from approved plans and specificationsTakes samples of materials, prepares test specimens, and assist in conducting field tests, or refers samples for laboratory analysisChecks the location of public utilities to avoid interference with construction workAssists PM in review of project submittals, RFI's, and CCO'sVerifies acceptability of material incorporated into the project by Certificates of Compliance, shop drawings, and test reportsMaintains material and inspection recordsMaintains a daily diary, photo log, contract item quantitiesOther duties as assigned Requirements Minimum Education, Licensure, or Certification Required College degree or minimum 5 years' work experience in related fieldValid California Class C driver's license and an acceptable driver's record are required Desired Certifications Certified Public Infrastructure Inspector (CPII)ICC Reinforced Concrete Inspection CertificationICC Masonry Inspection CertificationICC Welding Inspection CertificationACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade 1 CertificationQualified SWPPP CertificationFall protection Safety TrainingFirst Aid & CPR Minimum Experience Required 4 + years of experience in the supervision or inspection of engineering construction work including reading and interpreting complex construction plans and specifications, OR5 years' work experience in related trade/field Benefits The typical base salary range for this position is $125,000.00 - $160,000.00 annually, depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location, hourly wageCompetitive salaries, profit sharing, and 401kGenerous paid time off packages9 Paid HolidaysFlexible schedulesEducation reimbursement, paid annual dues for professional and societal organizationsBKF offers competitive and award-winning benefits and perks.
