Construction Inspector - Civil Technician

About the role

AECOM Transportation is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Construction Inspector / Technician to join the Kentucky team. This role involves inspection of roadway and bridge construction within Kentucky.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general construction inspection tasks to verify compliance with codes, ordinances, zoning regulations, and contract plans, specifications, and special provisions.
  • Maintain compliance with quality, performance, safety, and code requirements.
  • Assist with engineering calculations, set up and operate inspection equipment, and inspect equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications.
  • Document conformance with quality, performance, safety, and code requirements.
  • Monitor conformance with quality, performance, safety, and code requirements.
  • May involve assisting with traffic management and roadside barrier installation and inspection.
  • May assist with utility coordination certification.

Requirements

  • High School diploma + 4 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Familiarity with KYTC Construction Specifications.
  • Necessary certifications from KYTC to perform inspection.
  • Certificates: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I, Aggregate Sampling Technician, Grade Level I & II Technician, Asphalt Field Technician, Structures Inspection Level I, KEPSC-RI, Work Zone Traffic Control Technician/Supervisor, Roadside Barrier Installation & Inspection, Utility Coordination Certification.

Qualifications

  • General understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
  • Understanding of highway construction and specifications.

Skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of construction inspection standards and practices.

Pay

The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $25 to $40 per hour.

Schedule

This role involves flexibility with working schedule as often subject to contractor timelines.
