About the role
Join our Transportation Division in Richmond, VA to support our growing Construction Management and CEI practice. As a Construction Inspector, you will contribute to the development of critical infrastructure while enjoying a supportive, work-life balanced culture.
Responsibilities
- Apply safety philosophy to all job responsibilities and work safely in an outside environment
- Monitor contractor compliance with plans and specifications
- Establish engineering controls for the construction contractor and inspect the work
- Prepare daily inspection reports
- Perform on-site material testing and sampling
- Perform measurement and documentation of completed work
- Read and interpret construction plans and technical specifications
- Effectively communicate with project staff and clients, both verbally and in writing
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience
- Must possess the following certifications within 6 months of employment, as schedule permits:
- VDOT Certifications: Soil and Aggregate Compaction - NICET LEVEL II*, Asphalt Field Level I & II, Hydraulic Cement Concrete Field - ACI Concrete Field Level I, or WACEL Concrete I, or NICET LEVEL II*
- Pavement Marking, Slurry Surfacing, Surface Treatment, Flagger Certification, GRIT (Guardrail Certification), Certification for Erosion and Sediment Control Inspection - Virginia DEQ, Nuclear Gauge Safety Training - Nuclear Regulatory Commission Recognized Provided, Stormwater Management (Inspector) Certification (obtained prior to installation of stormwater items)
- Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control - VDOT Approved Provider, 10 Hour OSHA Safety Training - OSHA
Qualifications
- Valid state driver's license and clean driving record
- Able to lift 50 pounds, traverse rough terrain, walk or stand for extended periods of time while performing manual tasks, and work outdoors during all types of weather

Pay
$80,443.00 - $91,413.00
Schedule
Daily travel to project site will be required. Candidates may need to work nights and weekends when required. Overnight travel is not expected but may be necessary on a limited basis.
