About the role

Stantec's Construction Support Services (CSS) Program is expanding its presence in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and Georgia, serving top-tier clients. This role involves monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with design and contract documents.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Stantec’s on-site site safety representative, maintaining a safe working environment through safety briefings, observations, and walkdowns.
  • Act as the liaison between the engineer and the contractor, interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Oversee and/or perform required testing, maintaining documentation according to project documents.
  • Track construction progress, document issues and resolutions, and communicate discrepancies to the design team and client.
  • Maintain detailed records and reports for inclusion in progress reports and record drawings.
  • Attend project field meetings and manage construction quality oversight.

Requirements

  • Understanding of HSSE policies and procedures, including client-specific training.
  • Experience with field construction activities and construction quality management.
  • Certifications related to the position: ACI Level 1 Field Concrete Technician, NICET Level III/IV Soils, Geosynthetics Certification Institute’s Inspector Certification Program.
  • Previous experience in heavy earthwork, cast-in-place/concrete structures, geosynthetic liner systems, fusion welded HDPE pipe, pump stations, force mains, asphalt/concrete pavement, below-grade utility piping, and materials testing.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Proficiency with desktop office software and familiarity with codes/design requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with secondary education in related fields preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience, with preference for experience in heavy earthwork, cast-in-place/concrete structures, geosynthetic liner systems, fusion welded HDPE pipe, pump stations, force mains, asphalt/concrete pavement, below-grade utility piping, and materials testing.

Skills

  • Construction observation and inspection experience.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the region with overnight stays and work weekends.
