Construction Inspector

About the role

LaBella Associates is seeking a full‑time site representative for a 9,000‑LF water main replacement project at the University at Buffalo. The project is expected to start around November 1, 2026 and run through August 2028. The inspector will handle complex situations, coordinate with LaBella, the campus, and the contractor, and must thoroughly understand construction details and methods. LaBella’s multi‑disciplinary team of architects, designers, engineers, land surveyors, managers, and environmental scientists works to make the world more functional, beautiful, and safe. Responsibilities

• Perform construction observation and documentation on specific project site locations.
• Travel to field locations on a regular basis.
• Interpret construction documents.
• Prepare field reports and record documents.

Requirements

• Prior relevant work experience and knowledge of roads, stormwater utilities, water and sanitary sewer line installations, as well as storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) inspections.
• Minimum of 5‑7 years of construction inspection experience.
• Four‑year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
• Knowledge of erosion and sediment control installation and maintenance (preferred).
• OSHA 10‑hour certification.
• Microsoft Office experience (a plus).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Additional certification requirements may be necessary.

Pay

Salary Range: $35.00 – $43.00 per hour (actual offer may vary based on experience, education, and work location).
