Construction Inspector

General Construction Inspector –Long Beach and Los Angeles Area Keish Environmental is looking for an experienced, self-driven General Construction Inspector to support major infrastructure projects in Southern California for upcoming projects starting in the Spring/Summer of 2027. This mid-level role is a dynamic, field-based position ideal for candidates ready to lead detailed inspections across a variety of public and private projects. This will be a prevailing wage job. 🔧 What You'll Do Independently inspect infrastructure projects to ensure construction aligns with plans, specs, and codesConduct daily site visits (95% field-based), attend meetings, and maintain detailed inspection recordsMonitor stormwater (CGP), SWPPP/BMP compliance, and environmental controlsReview site safety practices, construction techniques, and schedule adherencePerform and interpret field tests; verify materials and workmanshipDocument findings, redline as-builts, and track all aspects of construction for complianceIdentify risks and propose sound engineering solutions in real-time ✅ Minimum Requirements 4+ years of direct construction inspection experience on highways or public works projectsStrong knowledge of concrete, steel, earthwork, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systemsExperience with Caltrans or other public infrastructure projects preferredAbility to work nights, weekends, and extended field shifts as requiredProficient in Microsoft Office, CPM software (Primavera, MS Project), and documentation toolsValid driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable transportation 🌟 Preferred Qualifications Registered California Professional Engineer (PE)QSP certification (CESSWI/CPESC a plus)Experience in SWPPP/BMP compliance and stormwater inspectionsCertifications from ACI, ICC, CMAA, or equivalent inspection bodiesProficiency in reading and interpreting plans, specs, estimates, and lab reportsStrong technical writing, organizational, and reporting skills 💼 What We Offer Annual Salary: $90K–$120K (DOE), prevailing wage when working on the projectMedical (Kaiser/Anthem), Dental, Vision, Life & LTD insurance401(k) with company match9 paid holidays + vacation and sick leaveFlexible work hours (field-driven) 🏢 About Keish Environmental Keish Environmental is a woman-owned firm offering stormwater, environmental compliance, and construction/program management services across California.
