Construction Inspector

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about transportation construction, engineering, and entrepreneurship to join our Construction Services Group in any of our offices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Construction Inspector for select Construction Management Projects.
• Work collaboratively with fellow staff internally and externally.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional growth.
• Communicate effectively with staff, colleagues, clients, and partners.
• Perform daily construction site duties, including:
  • Representing CKL professionally, dressing appropriately, and arriving punctually.
  • Working with the resident engineer and project team to fulfill all contract needs.
  • Inspecting project items within the framework of our scope of services.
  • Completing inspector daily reports, daily activity reports, and recording contractor activities in field books and client construction software.
  • Attending weekly construction progress meetings.
  • Understanding RFIs, change orders, and material submittals.
  • Completing project closeout items.
  • Using manuals, guidance, standards, and engineering judgment to provide construction engineering solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Construction Management (CM) experience.
• Comfortable and experienced with technical writing.
• Client references required.
• GDOT QC/QA certifications preferred.
• E.I.T. preferred.
