Construction Inspector
About the role
The City of Moreno Valley is seeking a dedicated and skilled Construction Inspector to oversee public works and capital projects. Key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to approved plans, specifications, safety requirements, and regulatory standards. The position involves conducting detailed inspections, evaluating materials, and monitoring contractor compliance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed inspections of construction sites
- Evaluate materials and compliance with specifications and safety standards
- Monitor contractor compliance and document project activities
- Prepare comprehensive project reports
- Work closely with the City, contractors, engineers, utility providers, developers, and property owners
Requirements
- Extensive technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant regulations
- Hands-on experience in inspecting public infrastructure and large-scale projects
- Understanding of engineering principles and applicable codes
- Exceptional analytical abilities in evaluating construction plans and identifying potential issues
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proficient in maintaining accurate documentation
- Commitment to maintaining safety and efficiency in project delivery
Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or G.E.D.
- Two years of experience in construction inspection
- Six years of trades experience working on large public works construction projects
- Equivalent combination of training and experience

Benefits

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $X per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This position is expected to work a standard 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
