Construction Inspector

About the role

Under general supervision, monitors, inspects and provides project management services for all phases of City construction projects, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, ordinances, standards of quality, standards of safety, and contract specifications. Surveys construction sites as required; responds to public inquiries and complaints regarding construction and other field activities. Performs related work as required. The incumbent must be able to perform specialized tasks in a highly independent manner. Reports to the CIP Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect all phases of City construction projects.
• Provide project management services ensuring compliance with codes, ordinances, quality and safety standards, and contract specifications.
• Survey construction sites as required.
• Respond to public inquiries and complaints regarding construction and field activities.
• Perform related work as required.
• Work independently on specialized tasks.
• Report to the CIP Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil construction, engineering, inspection, or a related field with at least five years of progressively responsible construction inspection experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Associate degree in engineering technology, drafting, or a related field (desired).
• Valid state driver's license.

Pay

Starting Salary $22.95 per hour.
