About the role

As an Assistant Project Manager in our Construction Group, you will blend fieldwork, project coordination, and client-facing teamwork into your daily routine. Your days may start in the field installing native seed or inspecting stormwater BMPs, transitioning to the office to update project tracking tools or contributing to proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in planning and coordinating habitat restoration projects
  • Participate in fieldwork: irrigation installation, plant removal, seeding, grading, erosion control, BMP installation
  • Use tools such as FieldMaps, Field Suite Services (FSS), Survey123 for project tracking
  • Auxiliary in proposals, cost estimating, pre/post-bid walks, schedules, and documentation
  • Supervise crews and maintain field logs and reporting
  • Cultivate positive client interactions and help identify business opportunities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field
  • Knowledge of habitat restoration or construction fields—through internship, volunteer work, or professional experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work outdoors safely and effectively
  • Valid CA driver’s license with clean record

  • Native plant knowledge (bonus)
  • 1-3 years restoration/construction professional experience (bonus)
  • Advanced fieldwork experience (bonus)
  • Familiarity with habitat restoration practices, BMPs, erosion control, irrigation systems and native vegetation management (bonus)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and field data collection platforms such as ArcGIS, Field Maps, Survey123 or similar project tracking tools (bonus)

Schedule & Flexibility

  • Primarily Orange County based (Irvine)
  • Hybrid schedule available depending on project needs
  • Outdoor fieldwork required year-round in varying terrain and weather

Pay

$25.00 - $29.00 per hour
