Responsibilities

  • Operate flatbed and gooseneck commercial vehicles, including end dumps, dump trucks, water trucks, and lowboy trailers, on public highways and construction job sites.
  • Proper endorsements for all commercial trucks are required.
  • Haul diverse construction materials such as aggregates, sand, concrete, and hot-mix asphalt to active work zones, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Safely transport heavy construction equipment to and from job sites using flatbed and gooseneck trailers.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle, which must be a minimum of 30 minutes each, to ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Report all maintenance needs identified during the process or by the end of the workday at the latest.
  • Be responsible for vehicle maintenance, including checking all fluids and cleaning the vehicles, removing all trash from the trucks and equipment, to ensure they remain in optimal condition.
  • Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or accidents during transport, adhering to all DOT regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, inspections, and other relevant information, turning in paperwork daily with no exceptions.
  • Communicate effectively with foremen, operations managers, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including DOT regulations, hours of service, and vehicle inspections.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping by verifying your start/travel/project/travel and end time in the UKG timekeeping and Pantera app.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman, operations manager, or designated personnel.
  • Notify your supervisor for additional work assignments if a job is completed early before the end of the day.
  • Do not leave for the day without authorization.
  • Use of cell phones is strictly prohibited while operating a company vehicle. Hands-free devices with a phone mount and Bluetooth are permitted.

Requirements

Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the types of vehicles operated.

Must have a clean driving record and meet all DOT requirements.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a commercial truck driver.

Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks related to the job.

Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Must have a valid Social Security number.

Must be able to speak, read, and write English.

Must be at least 21 years old.

Ability to maintain accurate records and report on deliveries and inspections.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of DOT regulations and company safety policies.
