About the Role
Responsible for the field maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of company-owned or leased construction equipment and vehicles to ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and available to support field operations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel equipment issues in the field.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on construction equipment, trucks, trailers, small engines, tools, and other company-owned or leased equipment.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and service needs at jobsites and other field locations.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to identify potential equipment issues before failure.
- Utilize computer diagnostic software and equipment-specific technology to identify and resolve mechanical and emissions-related issues.
- Repair and maintain diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspension, and other equipment components.
- Perform welding and minor fabrication as needed to complete equipment repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair current diesel emissions systems, including DPF, DEF, and related components.
- Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and anticipated downtime to field supervision and appropriate operations personnel.
- Coordinate with the shop, vendors, and equipment dealers when additional parts, service, or technical support is required.
- Maintain accurate service, repair, and maintenance records for equipment and vehicles.
- Ensure repairs are completed safely and in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and company standards.
- Maintain assigned service truck, tools, parts, and equipment in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Assist with equipment mobilization, inspections, and other field equipment needs as assigned.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while performing maintenance and repairs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of relevant mechanical or equipment repair experience, including work on tools, small engines, trucks, earth moving equipment, cranes, paving equipment, mini excavators, directional drills, etc.
- Ability to perform welding and minor fabrication.
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills across a variety of heavy and light equipment.
- Ability to navigate computer diagnostic software.
- Knowledge of current emissions systems is a plus.
- Excellent attendance is a must.
- Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
- CDL required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
