Key Responsibilities
- Estimate and procure new projects, including detailed cost estimates and clear written proposals.
- Manage aspects of awarded projects to ensure profitability goals are met.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through meetings, calls, and email communication.
- Define, track, and manage project scope and budget.
- Support employee development and contribute to organizational growth.
Operations
- Perform accurate quantity and cost takeoffs for framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, and related systems.
- Organize plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Maintain a detailed log of bids, pricing, and project updates.
- Coincide awarded projects with the Project Manager.
- Communicate scope and production requirements clearly to field and office teams.
- Maintain strong customer communication to ensure smooth project execution.
- Price scopes for new and ongoing projects to maintain profitability.
- Update cost projections and monitor project status, challenges, and needs.
- Establish pricing for scope changes and communicate impacts promptly to customers.
- Follow up on change orders, invoices, and payments to support positive cash flow.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of increasing responsibility in construction preferred.
- Knowledge of metal framing, drywall, and acoustical systems strongly preferred.
- Education or training in construction or estimating is a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Able to pass a national background check and motor vehicle report.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Motivated, independent thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Able to read and analyze blueprints.
- Strong computer skills; experience with estimating software preferred.
Physical Demands
- This role primarily involves office-based work, including extended periods of sitting, working at a computer, reviewing digital and printed construction documents, and participating in meetings.
- The position may occasionally require standing, walking through job sites, climbing stairs or ladders, and navigating uneven surfaces to review project conditions.
- The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on occasion, such as when transporting plans or materials.
