Construction Estimator

About the role

This role is for someone who naturally thinks three steps ahead, takes pride in accuracy and clarity, enjoys solving problems before they become problems, communicates well with builders, PMs, vendors, and subs, and cares about the reputation behind every bid that goes out the door.

Responsibilities

• Takes ownership of project estimates from start to finish
• Collaborates with PMs, engineers, and leadership to ensure accurate and competitive bids
• Uses estimating tools like Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Sage, or similar to prepare detailed estimates
• Reads and understands blueprints and specs to accurately assess project costs
• Communicates effectively with clients, builders, and other stakeholders to ensure clear scope of work
• Challenges unclear scope and submits RFIs to clarify project requirements
• Ensures all estimates are thorough, honest, and well-thought-out

Requirements

• 2+ years of construction estimating experience (or closely related experience)
• A strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs
• The ability to read and truly understand blueprints and specs
• Experience with estimating tools like Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Sage, or similar
• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills
• Confidence to ask questions, submit RFIs, and challenge unclear scope
