Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs for marine, concrete, site work, and heavy civil projects
- Prepare cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work
- Request and review pricing from vendors and subcontractors
- Aid in bid proposals, scope reviews, and project documentation
- Communicate with project managers, superintendents, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Track bid deadlines and help maintain organized estimating files
- Identify potential project risks, missing information, or scope gaps
- Aid with change order pricing as needed
- Support the team with administrative and project-related tasks when necessary
Qualifications
- Construction estimating experience preferred
- Experience with marine construction, concrete, site work, or heavy civil construction is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong math, computer, and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient with email, Microsoft Office, and basic computer programs
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Preferred Experience: Construction estimating: 1 year preferred, Plan reading/takeoff experience preferred, Heavy civil, marine, concrete, or site work experience is a plus
