Job Summary
The Construction Estimator will continue to grow our business and increase our sales volume. Our ideal candidate is experienced in asphalt and/or concrete paving and patching with estimating experience in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Generate new revenue by securing new contracted work and retaining current customers
- Travel throughout the Puget Sound to attend pre-bid conferences, meet with customers on site, assess project scope and requirements, obtain field measurements, and site visits
- Analyze plans and sites to identify and report details including construction access, staging areas, restricted areas, and potential concerns
- Create formal proposals for bid submissions to customers
- Follow up on outstanding bid submissions and secure new customers
- Cook up with Operations team providing detailed project requirements, ensure a smooth project handoff, and communicate throughout the duration of the project
- Oversee customer projects to ensure deadlines and cost targets are met
- Review current material and equipment pricing to ensure bid validity
- Communicate necessary project adjustments to customers for approval prior to project completion
- Build and maintain strong relationships, providing excellent customer service, with customers and subcontractors to foster a successful project environment
- Demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from subcontractors
- Submit accurate and completed documentation to the Finance department at project completion
Requirements
- Experienced in asphalt and/or concrete paving and patching
- Estimating experience in the industry
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to travel and work in various weather conditions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
