Description Stephenson Equipment, Inc (SEI), an industry leader in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and New York providing sales, rentals, parts and service for construction equipment, cranes, paving, road building and road maintenance equipment, has an immediate need for an Construction Equipment Mechanic in our Pittsburgh, PA location. Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To Repair and replace damaged or worn partsOperate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defectsTest mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specificationsDiagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devicesDismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand toolsClean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehiclesComply with all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPESchedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keep equipment service recordsRead and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawingsOverhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiencyAssemble gear systems, and align frames and gearsFit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipmentWeld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering toolsAdjust, maintain, and repair or replace subassemblies, such as transmissions and crawler heads, using hand tools, jacks, and cranesPerform other duties as assigned Total Compensation Includes Competitive PayFactory TrainingTool AllowanceFull Benefits Package401k with MatchingPaid Time Off Requirements Our Best fit will have: High School Diploma or GEDContinued Education with a technical school is a plusPrior experience in working on heavy equipmentValid Driver's LicenseAbility to lift 50lbs with an occasional lift up to 100lbs with assistance of a crane The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of the position and may not include all of the duties required of the position.
