About the role
Our dynamic and successful Construction group is seeking a construction engineering intern based in our Minneapolis, MN or St. Paul, MN office. This group provides construction services for municipal streets and utilities, state and county highways, freeways, bridges, parks, trails, and related facilities. The position includes long hours and some weekend work, with potential for full-time employment upon graduation.
Responsibilities
- Works on routine tasks according to specific procedures under close supervision.
- Assists with road construction inspection work.
- Assists construction inspection teams with documentation.
- Assists field crews with survey staking.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Progressing toward a BS in civil engineering, construction management, or a related 4-year degree, or a two-year civil engineering technician degree or prior experience working on a survey or construction crew.
- Demonstrates cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team and independently.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for long periods, and work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work the entire construction season is a plus.
Pay
$25.00 per hour. Compensation is determined by factors including education, experience, skills, job location, internal equity, and market analysis.
