About the role
TYLin is seeking an Office Engineer to join our Construction Management team in the Long Beach Area, working on dynamic transportation projects. This role focuses on ensuring quality and safety in construction engineering while collaborating with our Resident Engineer and supporting various project operations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Resident Engineer on daily tasks to ensure smooth project operations.
- Enforce construction safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Review and understand contract documents, plans, and specifications.
- Assist in documenting pay quantities and developing the Final Estimate.
- Ensure compliance with standards and specifications, and document monthly progress payments.
- Draft and track Contract Change Orders and ensure accurate payment tracking.
- Manage material inspections, certifications, and project acceptance documentation.
- Organize project files according to Caltrans requirements and manage project submittals, RFIs, and correspondence.
- Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and construction closeout documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract administration or inspection of bridge and roadway construction projects.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with experience working with contractors and sub-consultants.
- OSHA Safety Training Certification or willingness to complete it within 3 months of hire.

- Reliable transportation is required.
Pay
Base compensation range of $39.04 - $58.56 per hour, adjusted for local market and candidate qualifications.
