Construction Engineer (EIT/PE)

You'll work on construction projects for our transportation and municipal clients. Prepare technical calculations and lead in the preparation and coordination of reports, plans, specifications, supporting documents and permit applications. We provide full-service planning, design and construction management services on everything from roadways and bridges to airports, stormwater infrastructure, and parks/recreation projects primarily for state and local agencies and municipalities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management
• At least five years of construction experience
• EIT and/or PE preferred
• Familiarity with IDOT procedures and current IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities certification
• Understanding of construction inspection practices
• Paving experience is a plus
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Proficiency with business and engineering applications such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

Responsibilities

• Assist on construction projects by providing inspection for various construction projects
• Maintain project documentation, including calculations, daily reports, and project filing
• Work under a Lead Engineer, applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria with limited exercise of judgment
• Interface directly with clients, consultants, subconsultants, and contractors
