Construction Engineer 2

About the role

The Construction Engineer 2 will support EPC operation related engineering concerns and general guidance on best practices as observed from start of construction to end of SOLV’s warranty period. This role is fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Perform all essential Construction Engineer job responsibilities.
• Facilitate open communication between operations and engineering partners to provide transparency on operational challenges and potential remediations.
• Serve as the point of contact for operations to present engineering concerns, collaborating with SOLV Engineering, partners, and vendors to explain design methodology and provide engineered solutions.
• Assist the operations team with engineering-related construction RFIs (internal and external) during the construction phase, exhibiting urgency in resolving them.
• Understand all project-specific design requirements, including SOLV Energy, client/contract, and permit requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with site teams, including Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Management.
• Ensure sufficient knowledge of the SOLV EPC Contract to support operations and confirm compliance.
• Direct the implementation of autonomous pile driving systems to capture material, labor, and schedule savings associated with terrain-following racking systems.
• Assist the operations team with engineering-intensive clients and guide project teams through design comments with consultants.
• Support the warranty team in confirming responsibility for manufacturer failures, compromised design, and installation errors.
• Develop and lead project-specific training for project teams on GPS-enabled pile drivers, associated software, and internal proprietary tools.
• Support SOLV Energy’s development of continuous construction monitoring using drone technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of construction-related experience or equivalent.
• Excellent written communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Aptitude for problem-solving and strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Exposure to CAD/GIS and aptitude for proficiency in these and other engineering software.
• Ability to read and understand project drawings and specifications.
• Field experience preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Occasional exposure to weather, vibration, dust, fumes, electric shock, radiation, and toxic/caustic chemicals.
• Constant ability to see details at close range and at a distance, hear, talk, and possess depth perception.
• Occasional driving, climbing, carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, and working in high or exposed places.
• The noise intensity level can be high.
• Ability to work in both office and field settings, managing responsibilities during site visits.

Pay

Compensation range: $74,503 – $93,130 (salary).
