Construction Dump Truck Driver
About the role
The Dump Truck Driver operates commercial vehicles to transport materials such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone to and from construction job sites. Responsibilities may also include operating water trucks, flatbeds, or other vehicles as assigned and assisting grading and paving crews with general construction tasks.
Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks to transport materials such as sand, gravel, and crushed rock
- Safely dump loads using truck controls and mechanisms
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required reports
- Maintain assigned vehicles and report mechanical issues
- Operate other assigned vehicles including water trucks or flatbeds
- Auxiliary duties include installing erosion control, shoveling and moving materials, checking grade, driving posts, operating small equipment and tools
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and job site procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve project and company goals
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
- Minimum of two (2) years of commercial driving experience
- Experience operating dump trucks in construction environments preferred
- Valid Class B CDL required, Tanker endorsement preferred, HazMat endorsement preferred, Class A CDL preferred
Qualifications
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:
- Ability to read and understand basic safety instructions and job documentation
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Strong attention to safety and equipment operation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction crew

Pay
Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications
Schedule
Typical work hours are 8–14 hour shifts Monday through Friday, with occasional night work, overtime, and weekends depending on project schedules. Minimal overnight travel may be required.
