Construction Defect Claims Specialist

Responsibilities

• Independently manage all aspects of high-value, complex claims
• Proactively communicate with customers and business partners about claims
• Conduct thorough investigations for claims and lawsuits
• Write clear and accurate coverage positions
• Manage and plan litigation, including budgeting and strategies for resolution
• Develop and articulate coverage, liability, and damage assessments to leadership
• Negotiate and finalize agreements with liable parties and insurance carriers

Qualifications

• 5+ years construction defect claim handling experience
• Expertise in complex coverage and liability issues for general contractor, developer, owner, and construction manager claims
• Proficient in affirmative/defensive risk transfer and contractual indemnity tenders
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical and critical thinking capabilities
• Ability to present evaluations in a roundtable format
• Demonstrated successful negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Active Property & Casualty State Insurance Adjuster license

Pay

$107,600 – $161,400 annually
