About the role
Rimkus, a leader in Built Environment Solutions, seeks a skilled Consultant to support our global network of property owners, developers, investors, lenders, and contractors. Our team combines local expertise with global reach, delivering customized solutions that enhance client investments.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Write and tailor reports for specific clientele.
- Provide technical expertise for building assessments, repairs, renovations, maintenance, restoration, and new construction projects.
- Work with licensed professionals in the assessment, design, and construction of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
- Perform field assessments within all areas of the subject site, including working from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, rooftops, mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, elevator machine rooms, fire protection equipment rooms, and confined spaces.
- Be familiar with and able to research local and state building codes and standards (historical and current).
- Review/research product submittals, samples, mock-ups, testing reports, data sheets, and warranties.
- Be familiar with construction materials testing standards.
- Be able to read, interpret, and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Participate in evaluating construction change orders by reviewing scope, cost, and project impacts; apply knowledge of current construction costs to support negotiations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
Requirements
- Construction field engineer or assistant project management experience is required.
- Building Inspection experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office software is required.
- Good report writing skills and verbal communication skills are required.
- Must be able to interact and communicate with clients at all levels (e.g., internal and external) and work independently with good judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Familiarity with general construction principles and processes.
- Collaborates effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
Skills and Abilities
- Construction field engineer or assistant project management experience is required.
- Building Inspection experience is a plus.

Qualifications
- B.S. in architecture, engineering, building science, construction management or other construction-related degree or higher.
- 3-5 years of experience as a professional in the construction of ground-up developments, renovations, retrofit or fit out of buildings.
- Engineer-in-training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) designations are a plus.
Travel Requirements
- 10% Overnight travel
- 60% In office
- 30% In field
Pay
The Salary Range for this position is $83,000 - $124,000 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.
Schedule
Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with one hour for lunch. There will be periods where overtime will be required, which the employee will need to comply with in order to meet the demands of the position.
