Construction Civil-Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities
- Oversee contractor and subcontractor civil and mechanical construction activities for renewable energy facilities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, contract requirements, applicable codes, ACCIONA QA/QC standards, and industry best practices.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for civil and mechanical construction, supporting engineering contractors through design reviews, constructability assessments, RFI management, and technical issue resolution.
- Monitor construction quality, contractor performance, and project schedules, identify risks, recommend corrective actions, and support safe, efficient project execution in accordance with ACCIONA processes and Best in Class Performance standards.
- Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate construction documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, drawings, meeting minutes, inspection records, job books, turnover documentation, and quality records.
- Support commissioning activities, including facility tie-ins, start-up, testing, project demobilization, closeout, and successful turnover to Operations.
- Oversee safety, environmental, and quality compliance for ACCIONA personnel and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, technical and safety training standards, and timely resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Support BUILD SAFE implementation, conduct root cause analyses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and prepare project reports and KPIs for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in mentoring and training new Construction Engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- EIT certification preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience supporting renewable energy, utility, industrial, or heavy civil construction projects preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with AutoCAD, MS Project, or Primavera is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices, serving as a role model for safe operations.
- Ability to temporarily relocate to project site during construction and travel as required to support project needs.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, climb vertical ladders, work at heights up to 300 feet, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to support construction schedules, including extended hours and weekend work when necessary.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Pay and Benefits
Base Pay: $90,000 to $115,000 (based on experience, education, and skillset). 10% Annual Performance Bonus (based on individual performance and company metrics). Eligible for company-provided per diem during project deployment periods and a company vehicle for authorized business transportation related to project activities.

Schedule
Position is project-site based, with occasional rotation to office work, and requires temporary relocation for the duration of construction activities. Employees work on a rotational Rest & Recuperation (R&R) schedule designed to support work-life balance during project deployment, with schedules varying based on project needs and construction activities.
