About the role
Are you someone who gets excited about discovering new technology and finding practical ways to help businesses work smarter? Syscon, Inc. is looking for a Business Applications Consultant who enjoys solving business problems through reporting, automation, business applications, and emerging technology. This is a client-facing consulting role where you’ll help organizations improve workflows, reporting, technology adoption, and business processes.
What YOU'LL DO
- Partner with clients to improve business processes, reporting, workflows, and technology adoption
- Create Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
- Create workflow automations using Microsoft Power Platform tools
- Identify practical opportunities to use AI-enabled tools and automation to improve client operations
- Deploy reports and business solutions within Sage 100 Contractor and Acumatica
- Support Syscon’s custom-built business applications
- Train and support end users through implementation and ongoing consulting
- Collaborate with developers and consultants to deliver practical business solutions
- Document client requirements, workflows, and recommendations
- Continuously explore new technology and share ideas that create value for clients
What YOU BRING
- 3+ years of experience supporting business applications, ERP systems, reporting, business intelligence, or technology consulting
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI and Power Automate
- Working knowledge of SQL and SQL Server
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience supporting business applications, reporting platforms, Microsoft business technologies, automation tools, or AI-enabled tools
- Natural curiosity and a desire to stay current with emerging technology
- Able to independently research, test, and apply new tools
- Comfort working through ambiguity without needing every step defined
- Able to translate technology into practical business value for clients
- Strong communication, organization, follow-through, and client-facing consulting skills
- Ownership mindset with excellent prioritization and accountability
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Accounting, MIS, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A strong plus: Construction industry experience, MSP or technology consulting experience, Experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Experience with SharePoint, Experience with Microsoft Copilot or similar AI platforms, Experience with Sage 100 Contractor and/or Acumatica, Experience supporting ERP reporting and workflow solutions
