About the role

Join our Lamar office in Collinsville, Missouri as an Operations crew member and help bring outdoor advertising campaigns to life for brands in Hannibal/Collinsville, MO and surrounding areas. This action-packed role involves installing and maintaining billboards, including advertisement installation, structural maintenance, and cosmetic upkeep. You’ll work as part of an installation crew, gaining a bird’s-eye view of the city while building and maintaining structures that keep communities informed.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain billboards, including removing and hanging flexes/vinyls, cutting and preparing materials, and installing copy on Tri-Visions
  • Maintain billboard structures: tighten bolts, paint steel structures, repair trim and sign faces, change light bulbs, and assemble structures as needed
  • Build and install extensions, cut brush/weeds, conduct storm damage repairs, and perform minor electrical repairs
  • Sweep and clean workshop areas, use power/manual tools, and adhere to all safety regulations
  • Attend safety meetings as required
  • Maintain operation vehicles, tools, equipment, and machinery
  • Take completion photos for proof of performance

Requirements

  • Good communication skills and fluency in English (speaking and reading)
  • Ability to work well with others and comply with Lamar safety standards
  • Basic computer skills, including Internet navigation and Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Ability to work from ladders and carry tools to the worksite
  • Working knowledge of electrical skills, fabrication techniques, and reading technical documents (e.g., blueprints, diagrams)
  • General knowledge of Lamar, DOT, and OSHA safety regulations
  • Ability to safely use construction equipment for outdoor structure maintenance
  • Ability to climb and work at heights safely (up to 200 ft. above ground)
  • Skill in documenting installations via photographs and written logs
  • Practical application of mathematics for construction and operations tasks
  • Skill in setting priorities based on job responsibilities

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Valid driver’s license (required)
  • Ability to complete OSHA 10-hour Construction course (required)
  • Preferred certifications (depending on location): CDL/Non-CDL, Crane, Signal, Rigging, or LDD
  • Previous experience working at heights up to 200 ft. (preferred)
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Schedule

Monday–Thursday, 7:00 am–5:30 pm

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Primarily outdoor work in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to climb to heights up to 200 ft.
  • Heavy lifting (up to 100 pounds), extensive bending, pushing, reaching, and stooping
  • Sitting less than 50% of the time; standing, walking, driving, and climbing regularly
  • Less than 10% of nights spent away from home traveling
  • On-call shifts may be required
  • Requires focus on reading, color distinction, acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision
