Construction Assistant
About the role
Construction Assistant – Industrial – Hurt, VA. The Construction Assistant will help with a myriad of tasks to assist project managers to successfully complete projects and assignments, including organizing project documentation, preparing meeting and pricing packages, distributing information with subcontractors and project team members, and handling operation and maintenance manuals.
Project Overview
Newly secured project in southern Virginia supporting a growing industrial market in the region. Large‑scale, long‑duration build (100+ weeks) with an established site team structure, including multiple superintendents, assistant superintendents, project managers, and APMs. Site setup and mobilization underway now, with groundbreaking next month. Backed by HITT's broader Industrial platform, which collaborates with project stakeholders to develop focused action plans that bring complex projects online as fast and safely as possible. Out‑of‑town assignment with per diem support for the duration of the project.
Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Project Manager.
- Communicate daily with Project Management staff, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Ensure effective communication, consistent quality of work products, and timely delivery of documentation.
- Maintain clear, concise, and professional communication tailored to the audience.
Qualifications
- Four‑year degree from an accredited university (preferred).
- Prior experience with a professional organization demonstrating accountability, professionalism, and strong organization skills (preferred).
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and takes initiative.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Microsoft‑based software.
- Ability to learn and adapt to sector‑specific software such as ProCore, Primavera P6, Adobe, and BlueBeam.
- Willingness to work out of town for the duration of the assignment, with per diem provided.

Compensation
Base salary range (Virginia): $69,300 – $85,800. Compensation in other cities and states may vary. Salary is determined based on professional experience, qualifications, education, skills, and training.
