Construction and Infrastructure Transactions Associate (Fort Wayne)

Faegre Drinker is seeking an associate with three to six years of construction-related transactional experience to join its nationally recognized Construction and Infrastructure Transactions practice in one of the following offices: Boulder, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Des Moines, Fort Wayne (IN), Indianapolis, Minneapolis, New York, or Princeton (NJ).

About the role

Our team drafts and negotiates sophisticated contracts, including EPC agreements, design-build documents, alternative delivery contracts, supply and purchase agreements, service and engineering agreements, and consulting agreements, for large-scale energy, transportation, and industrial infrastructure projects.

This is a high-responsibility role within a collaborative, fast-paced practice handling matters of national significance for institutional clients. Associates benefit from direct partner mentorship, early client contact, and sustained opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Independently draft and negotiate construction-related contracts (EPC agreements, design-build documents, alternative delivery contracts, supply/purchase agreements, service/engineering agreements, consulting agreements).
• Advise on risk allocation, indemnification, insurance, bonding, and other critical commercial terms.
• Communicate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.

Requirements

• Three to six years of construction-related transactional experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in drafting and negotiating sophisticated construction contracts.
• Excellent legal writing skills and strong academic credentials.
• Meticulous attention to detail.

Schedule

Our in-office work policy asks all attorneys, consulting professionals, and paraprofessionals to work from a Faegre Drinker office three days per week, balancing in-person collaboration and relationship-building with flexibility and work-life balance.

Pay

The anticipated initial annual salary range for this position is $180,000 – $215,000. Actual salary may vary based on skills, training, experience, location, and other job-related factors.

Salary is one component of Faegre Drinker’s total compensation and benefits package for attorneys, which also includes productivity and discretionary bonuses; life, health, accident, and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.
