About the Role

Perform site reviews and observation efforts on complex and diverse projects requiring construction experience in a given discipline or trade. Handle construction administrative duties including shop drawings, site visits, and submittals.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Manage the RFI and Submittals process by following up with the design team to ensure timely completion and return.
  • Record and document meetings, forward OAC notes to Project Managers and Practice Area Leaders, and upload notes to project folders.
  • Review O&Ms and prepare comment sheets.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings or huddles.
  • Attend onsite huddles to resolve coordination conflicts.
  • Attend manufacturer equipment startups as needed.
  • Respond to emails and phone calls promptly.
  • Post and remove DBR job advertisement signs (with prior approval).
  • Keep calendar updated with administrative tasks.
  • Maintain and update workload spreadsheet quarterly or upon request.
  • Continue professional development through in-house seminars and external continuing education opportunities.
  • Perform additional assignments as requested or needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Architectural Engineering, or Technical/Associate Degree with 5 years of related work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license for required travel.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of system design and applicable design codes.
  • Revit and AutoCAD drafting/design experience; ability to read construction drawings.
  • Proficient in computer-based design, BIM drafting, engineering analysis, and equipment selection software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word) and office equipment (e.g., computer, copier).
  • Excellent research, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility with workload and project schedules.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients and coworkers in both field and office settings.

  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to navigate minor obstacles at construction sites on foot.
    • Frequent communication with clients and team members; must exchange accurate information.
    • Constant use of hands/fingers to operate computers and office equipment (e.g., calculator, copier, printer).
    • Must remain stationary (standing or sitting) 50% of the time.
    • Occasional movement within the office to access machinery or project information; occasional reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
    • Close vision, distance vision, and ability to focus for tasks such as data analysis, computer work, and extensive reading.
    • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Working Conditions:
    • Primarily inside environmental conditions; protected from weather but not necessarily temperature changes.
    • Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (typical office environment).
    • Noise level usually low to moderate.
