CONSTITUTIONAL POLICING ADVISOR (UC), SHERIFF

About the role

The County of Los Angeles Sheriff Department seeks to fill two Constitutional Policing Advisor positions. These roles are unclassified executive-level classes that report directly to the Sheriff. The advisors are responsible for enhancing internal accountability, ensuring compliance with constitutional policing, formulating and processing internal procedures and policies, and establishing and maintaining effective relationships with civilian oversight organizations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law, political science, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in law enforcement, corrections, or related fields. Knowledge of constitutional policing principles and practices is required, as is experience with civil rights and due process issues.

Qualifications

Must possess a valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Must also meet the physical requirements of the position, including vision, hearing, and strength.

Skills

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required. Experience with public speaking and community engagement is preferred.
