Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the development, coordination, and ongoing operation of the Healthy Start Community Consortium in alignment with program goals and funder requirements.
- Identify, engage, and maintain strategic relationships with healthcare providers, public agencies, community organizations, and other partners working to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.
- Ensure meaningful participation of Healthy Start participants and community members with lived experience, consistent with program requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Consortium, community partners, and Healthy Start program leadership.
- Represent Global Communities and Healthy Start at community events, coalitions, health fairs, and partner meetings.
Qualifications And Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in public health, social work, community development, public administration, public policy, maternal and child health, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of six years of related work experience.
- Specialized training in childbirth, doula, postpartum doula, or lactation education is highly desired.
- Knowledge of and passion for systems change and collective impact.
- Skilled facilitator of groups and meetings.
- Excellent listening and documentation skills.
- Ability to set agendas, motivate stakeholders, and navigate conflicting viewpoints.
- Interest in women's health, including prenatal and post-partum concerns; mental health, childbirth, infant development, and local community and social service resources.
- Cultural experiences comparable to the populations served, along with knowledge and respect of the values and beliefs of Black women, refugee and immigrant communities.
- Fluent in English (read, write, speak) is required, second languages are a plus.
- Experience with virtual and in-person event planning, including meetings, training, and webinars.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
