Connections Team Leader (Oakley)
Job Summary
The Connections Team Leader is responsible for leading volunteers who create welcoming environments for seekers at Crossroads Crossroads Church. This role involves recruiting, developing, and shepherding volunteers, leading teams, and managing operational aspects of the Connections ministry.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
People Developer: Recruit, develop, nurture, and shepherd volunteers. Encourage and build into volunteers spiritually and personally, fostering growth and Christ-following. Lead large team meetings as needed.
Reproduce: Lead Connections teams (Auditorium, Welcome Team, Parking, Coffee, Communion, Eco) for which you have responsibility. Ensure teams are welcoming, friendly, consistent, teachable, reflect Crossroads values, and champion hospitality.
Invite: Build the Connections team by recruiting and welcoming new members, casting vision for serving as a pathway to growth as Christ-followers.
Operational Expertise: Develop operational understanding of all Connections teams. Train volunteers on their roles and responsibilities to ensure guests have an excellent experience. Acquire knowledge and execute best use of Crossroads database for communication, scheduling, and volunteer onboarding. Compile expense reports, maintain records, and organize catering when necessary.
Outward Facing: Champion the spirit of Connections with staff, volunteers, and vendors. Work with vendors using good stewardship and integrity to secure contracts within provided budgets. Advocate for the Connections team at all Crossroads Oakley services and events.
Experience/Skills Requirements
Strong relationship with Jesus and commitment to Crossroads vision and mission.
Pastoral heart and leadership experience, including supervising and mentoring others.
Flexible, process-oriented, supportive team player with high initiative and proactive problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and administrative/hospitality skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 25 pounds and walk at least 3 miles per day.
Schedule/Travel Requirements
40+ hours/week
Sunday and Saturday services
Availability to work during all Crossroads Oakley services, including weekends and major holidays.
Available for work nights and/or weekends when needed.
