About the Role

The Client Connected Vehicle Validation Team is revolutionizing the vehicle ownership experience through the invention of software products delivered to connect customers via digital touchpoints including mobile apps, websites, and in-vehicle infotainment systems.

The Validation Engineer will be responsible for Connected Services Validation for features such as Vehicle Access/Start, Security, voice of the customer development, customer functional objectives target setting, and execution of test plans. You will support vehicle integration and validation by maintaining a functional objective library, validating test plans and procedures, supporting tech club, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop new features for next-generation vehicles.

Additional responsibilities include supporting Platform Engineers in identifying domain-specific vehicle issues, participating in ride and drive events, and conducting benchmarking activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Connected Services Validation for features including Vehicle Access/Start and Security
  • Develop voice of the customer objectives and set functional targets
  • Execute test plans and validate test procedures
  • Maintain functional objective library
  • Support vehicle integration and validation processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new features
  • Identify and address domain-specific vehicle issues
  • Support ride and drive events
  • Conduct benchmarking activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited program
  • Engineering experience in the automotive industry
  • Strong desire to understand customer needs and vehicle development programs
  • Understanding of vehicle system connectivity
  • Experience testing automotive components/features
  • Proficiency with Vector CANoe / CANalyzer
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Understanding of operational architecture, use cases, vehicle, and software lifecycle
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to summarize and present work effectively
  • Proven ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment with minimal assistance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited university
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, design validation (DV), process validation (PV) (DVPR), and test planning
  • One year of vehicle integration and validation experience or equivalent
  • Previous experience in feature design, system design, or integration
  • Embedded software development experience
  • DFSS Green Belt certification
