Conflicts Counsel (Multiple Offices)

About the role

A Conflicts Counsel position is available at Sheppard, a global Am Law 50 firm, in their Century City, Del Mar, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego (Downtown), San Francisco, or Silicon Valley office.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and resolve conflicts of interest arising from new matters, new clients, and lateral hires, including coordination with firm attorneys as needed.
• Support the intake process by ensuring submissions are complete and accurate and by preparing or reviewing related documentation (e.g., waivers, engagement letters, and outside counsel guidelines).
• Respond to attorney and staff inquiries regarding conflicts, waivers, intake policies and procedures, and related professional responsibility issues.
• Liaise with firm attorneys to identify business conflicts and take necessary steps to document and resolve those conflicts.

Requirements

• 3+ years of conflicts analysis experience required.
• Meticulous, intellectually curious, have good knowledge of conflict rules, effective people skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Required: Juris Doctor
• Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Benefits

California: The salary range for this position is $190,000 - $210,000 per year.

Schedule

Based in one of our local Sheppard offices but will be allowed to work from home. You are required to come into the office on an as-needed basis. After hours and weekend work will be required on occasion as the workload requires.
