A Brief Overview

The Configuration Engineer is a key member of the Digital Workplace team responsible for the design, deployment, and ongoing management of enterprise endpoint configuration platforms. This role focuses on managing and modernizing device management using Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) and Microsoft Intune, while maintaining a working knowledge of Jamf for Apple device support.

What you will do

  • Design, deploy, and manage endpoint configurations across SCCM (MECM) and Microsoft Intune
  • Create and manage application packaging, deployment, and update strategies across platforms
  • Collaborate with other teams and vendors to develop and implement new solutions to meet business requirements
  • Maintain workstation base images (OS, drivers, and core applications)
  • Develop and implement configuration baselines, compliance policies, and security standards
  • Leverage scripting (PowerShell) and automation tools to streamline endpoint management
  • Monitor environment health and generate reports on compliance, patching, and system performance
  • Ensure project completion by assessing and engaging additional support teams including but not limited to internal areas as well as 3rd Parties
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and training materials where needed
  • Provide after hours support as needed

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • 4-6 years of experience in endpoint configuration engineering (SCCM/Intune focused)
  • 4-6 years of experience providing application support in complex business environments, including a mix of SaaS, Hybrid and On-premise installations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven troubleshooting abilities
  • Passion for investigating and solving customer problems, using advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills / toolsets
  • Ability to administer JAMF Pro Cloud Server for the management and deployment of applications to all Apple devices
  • Experience provisioning and supporting virtual desktops
  • Ability to administer and troubleshoot Microsoft workplace applications
  • Basic understanding of certificates and certificates issued by authorities
  • Familiarity with ITSM systems like ServiceNow or others
  • A solid understanding of PowerShell, SQL, and other basic scripting and query languages
  • Experience with Qualys Platform

Expected Work Location (In Office)

It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Safelite Home Office (7400 Safelite Way, Columbus, OH 43235). You are required to work in the office at least 4 days a week. Changes to work location arrangements are subject to managerial approval and business needs.
