Configuration Control Specialist 2

We are seeking a full-time Configuration Control Specialist 2 at our office in Miramar, FL.

About the Role

In this role, you will manage and/or lead tasks to maintain the configuration of Garmin’s systems and products by documenting, tracking, and controlling changes throughout the product life cycle. Responsibilities include developing gap analysis, identifying process improvements, and aligning Garmin’s quality system with evolving business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Apply working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management, ERP software, Inventory and Forecast Planning, Engineering Change Orders, Bill of Materials structures, and Logistics and Distribution.
• Use and apply departmental tools in programs such as Excel and Qlik.
• Demonstrate leadership in process improvements and propose new ideas for consideration.
• Build relationships with internal customers and collaborate with team members on complex tasks.
• Communicate effectively across varied disciplines.
• Use analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes.
• Apply understanding of operations, production, and inventory process definitions to daily activities.
• Provide guidance to other departments regarding standard practices and expectations.
• Work collaboratively toward common goals and foster a positive atmosphere.
• Demonstrate good judgment in prioritizing tasks, setting schedules, and assessing risks.
• Manage and perform item master and ECO (Engineering Change Order) coordination activities.
• Review ECOs at the Board step for implementation actions, including updating BOMs and effective dates in Garmin’s ERP system.
• Collaborate with various functions to identify and implement system and process improvement opportunities.
• Prepare and publish quality system procedures.
• Conduct system/process audits using established procedures and policies, both individually and as part of an audit team.
• Maintain confidentiality of product and process specifications, performance analysis, and operational conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience leading small projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Solid understanding of parts drawings and implementing changes within a quality system using Product Lifecycle Management Software (e.g., Agile or similar tools).
• Solid understanding of supply chain, manufacturing processes, and ERP systems.
