About the role
SAIC is seeking a Configuration Analyst Principal to assist the NSWC Crane Hypersonic Systems Engineering Team in developing and implementing Configuration Management (CM) processes, authoring documentation/policy, and applying CM best practices for a hypersonic developmental program working to establish formal processes as configuration responsibility is transitioned from the Lead Systems Integrator to the Government.
Position will either be staffed onsite at Crane or remotely in Washington, DC or Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Crane CPS CM lead in formulating big picture strategic ideas to drive CM strategy for the program, including CM processes for the CPS Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) test environment, in a rapid development environment.
- Enable processes that will prepare the program for weapon system sustainment requirements.
- Help the program obtain technical and data-driven solutions; evaluate and recommend engineering, CM, and Data Management (DM) tools.
- Apply sound configuration management practices to evolving technical program baseline(s), ensuring configuration items are correct, complete, and consistent in compliance with technical and programmatic requirements.
- Interface with a variety of Government National Team program stakeholders (government, Prime Contractor, National Labs) and various Government/contractor working groups spanning systems engineering, hardware & software engineering, and logistics.
- Track all aspects of system development, product design changes, and their effects on the overall system.
- Ensure configuration identification; prepare and process change documentation; facilitate change review boards; help structure and maintain databases; generate configuration status reports and configuration verification audit records sheets.
- Perform configuration audits including Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs).
- Establish and maintain product baselines (Functional, Allocated, and Product) for assigned systems and subsystems.
- Coordinate with logistics, engineering, and program management teams to ensure configuration changes are properly reflected in technical data packages (TDPs).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years' experience (5+ in CM).
- Formal Configuration Management Certificate (e.g., CMII, CMPIC, CMTF).
- CM Leadership experience (experience with both developmental and sustainment programs desired).
- DoD Acquisition program experience (Navy program experience preferred).
- Experience with a variety of Product Life Cycle Management and Data Management, and Software CM Tools (e.g., SharePoint, Windchill, DOORS, JIRA, or equivalent).
- Interim clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.
- US Citizen desired.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience conducting or supporting FCAs/PCAs on Navy systems.
- Background in Software CM (SCM) and Agile processes.
- Experience with Navy Model Based Product Support (MBPS) systems.
Pay
Target salary range: $80,001 – $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
