About the Role
The Concrete Operator I adheres to established protocols to execute various manual tasks in producing concrete pads and products. This role works within production standards for volume, cost, scrap targets, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Load materials into production machinery and handle the removal, packaging, and sorting of raw materials and finished goods.
- Operate vibrators, foam routers, and perform striking/troweling off-line tasks.
- Demold concrete pads and perform scrape/patch duties to rectify minor imperfections.
- Prepare concrete mixes tailored to meet line specifications, ensuring correct ratios and measurements of ingredients.
- Perform mold preparation tasks, including coating molds with release agents, securing foam with pins, and inserting rebars.
- Extract concrete pads from molds using vacuum cups, transfer them to the conveyor line, flip them, and stack them on pallets.
- Conduct quality control by removing defective pads and rectifying minor hairline cracks or imperfections.
- Ensure a tidy finish through troweling, affix labels, and wrap finalized products for inventory management.
- Cut foam to desired specifications using machinery.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the work area to eliminate safety hazards.
- Perform strike-off (troweler) tasks to ensure proper mud filling and prevent protruding fibers, achieving even mud distribution and sharp corners.
- Conduct concrete vibrating tasks, including spreading concrete in molds, positioning rebar, and adding foam at subsequent stations.
- Insert bolts, clips, and various inserts when removing pads from molds, depending on pad type.
- Operate EPS Gridders to receive foam, place it on hot wires, and create grid patterns for slurry.
- Operate multiple CNC machines and conduct cycle counts of raw materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience working in a fast-paced and high-volume work environment.
- Proactive "self-starter" with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
