Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Concrete Estimator to join our growing team in Houston. This is a critical role responsible for developing accurate, competitive bids on concrete scopes, with a strong focus on multifamily projects. The ideal candidate brings deep field knowledge, sharp takeoff skills, and a proven track record of winning work in the commercial concrete market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial concrete scopes including structural concrete, slab on grade foundations, flatwork, and site concrete
  • Review plans, specifications, and project documents to identify scope, potential risks, and VE options
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
  • Coordinate with project managers and field superintendents to ensure estimate accuracy and constructability
  • Track bid results and maintain a database of unit costs and historical pricing
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks as needed
  • Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, and owners

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of concrete estimating experience in commercial or multifamily construction
  • Demonstrated experience on multifamily projects (mid-rise, garden-style, podium, or wrap-style preferred)
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Measure Square, PlanSwift, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of concrete scopes, materials, labor, and subcontractor markets
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
