Responsibilities
- Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects
- Preparing detailed estimates for construction projects, including the use of concrete, labor, equipment, and materials
- Managing the bidding process, including the preparation of detailed cost estimates, draft proposals, and hard bids
- Implementing cost-effective solutions and project strategies to stay within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety
- Conducting risk management assessments to identify potential operational or financial risks
- Communicating with team members, clients, and other stakeholders to discuss cost estimates and resolve cost discrepancies
- Participating in the negotiation and preparation of construction contracts
- Utilizing specialized software for project take-off and estimation
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry as a Concrete Estimator or in a similar role
- Proven experience in concrete focused, commercial and industrial projects ranging from $2M to $12M in project value
- A solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements
- Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills to calculate and estimate costs accurately
- Strong negotiation skills to ensure cost-effective contracts and bids
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, team members, and stakeholders
- Proficiency in using estimation software and other industry-related tools
- A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred
Salary: $100,000 - $135,000 per year
