Concrete Construction Intern
About the role
As a Concrete Construction Intern at Lithko Contracting, you'll spend approximately 12 weeks learning the fundamentals of concrete construction on the job site. Your dedicated manager and mentors are invested in your success as you are introduced to various phases of work. Through our integration (training) program, you have the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills applicable inside and outside the classroom.
You'll join a nationwide team with over 27 locations and more than 6,500 coworkers, placing over 100 million square feet of concrete annually and earning over $2 billion in revenue across industries such as industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, education, chip plants, and data centers.
Responsibilities
- Actively utilize resources, including managers and mentors, to understand project scope, schedule, and plans for safety and quality.
- Impact the project by developing plans to execute work objectives, track progress, and replan based on feedback and performance.
- Manage daily safety, quality, and execution of work objectives.
- Learn through hands-on performance with teams via daily preparation plans and project execution processes.
- Specific duties may include:
- Field engineering (line and grade)
- Forming walls and columns
- Inspections
- Loadout
- Place and finish
- Prep and forming structural slabs
- Production tracking
- Quantity take-offs
- Slab on grade prep
- Slab on metal deck prep
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Working toward a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Reliable transportation to job sites daily and on time.
- Ability to work in rough terrain and operational sites during inclement weather (as long as it is safe).
- Capable of performing labor at elevation, sometimes multiple stories above ground level.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Job offer contingent upon a successful drug test.
Skills
We are looking for action-oriented, collaborative, and eager-to-learn individuals. While prior experience on a commercial construction site is not required, drive and a willingness to excel are essential.
