Concrete Carpenter
About the role
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, constructing, erecting, installing and repairing concrete structures such as foundations, slabs, walls, stairs, and any other building components that are required to satisfactorily complete the concrete scope of work in a project.
Responsibilities
- Tie and place rebar, wire mesh, post-tensioning cables, etc. (rod-busting)
- Assemble wooden or metal concrete forms, ties, and shoring.
- Pour, vibrate, and finish concrete foundations, walls, stairs, and small slabs.
- Work closely with a project Superintendents, Foremen, and Laborers.
- Ensure construction safety regulations to work in a safe work environment.
- Read blue-prints (construction drawings) and measuring instruments.
- Use and sequence of straight edges, bull floats, mops and highway straight edges, float blades, combo blades, hand tools, sledgehammer, hand saws, power drills, saws, lasers, finish blades, etc.
- Establish cross slopes and acceptable tolerances of sidewalks, ADA ramps, curbs, driveways, and other concrete structures.
- Patches and repairs concrete slab work, and concrete joint treatments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of concrete carpentry, equipment operation and maintenance, rod-busting, concrete formwork, and pouring concrete.
- Physically fit to climb, stand, kneel, reach, walk, bend, balance, and squat for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift, push, carry and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate a skid steer and telehandler.
- Ability to operate total station, layout and field engineering is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish/English language.
- Driver’s license is a plus.
